The author of Hebrews tells his readers in a call to persevere, “…let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

Churches aren’t perfect. People certainly aren’t perfect. Service times can be inconvenient. It’s hard to develop and maintain relationships. Sometimes tough things are said. However, none of those should be reasons for you to abandon the local church.

The church is the only environment you will find a community of people pushing each other to get the most satisfaction out of life by discovering and living out your true purpose. Getting in the door is table stakes. The more involved you are, the better you’ll feel.

With all of the inputs that you can feed your mind with: the news, social media comparisons, television shows, movies, music, and gossip, there are very few places that challenge you to live your personal best and church provides a fabric of people to help you do that.

I owe my entire life success and accomplishments to God’s blessings on me. My worst times in life were when I was disconnected from the local church. My best times were my most involved times, not because of the church itself but because of what being in that environment did for me and my growth and development.

  • A spiritual atmosphere for God’s presence
  • Regular coaxing by God’s spirit
  • Opportunities for influence & leadership
  • A community of true friends
  • Personal divine direction

Reading the bible is the number one thing you can do to grow. A close second is a regular, two-way communication with God. Since life is hard enough by yourself, we need good people to help us.

Time and money are the two most valued things in today’s society. Where you spend each shows how important things are to you. It will also show you who you are becoming. The right local church can be a personal accelerator for your life. Invest your time and your personal return will be huge. Jesus said that he “came to give life and give life to the full.” Get that for yourself.
